Bush is apparently under pressure to pull out of Iraq. Today, this is apparently news-worthy. I have to wonder why.
Anyway, one thing I did notice was the following quote, from the Irish Times:
Iraq’s foreign minister, Hoshyar Zebari, warned that a swift US military withdrawal from the country could lead to a full-scale civil war, the collapse of the government and new conflicts across the region.
Here’s my question: isn’t that what has already happened??
I can’t explain why exactly but Stalin was one of the reasons I studied history. I got hooked on him in my Junior Cert history classes and never quite kicked the habit - so you can imagine how frustrating it was when I had no option to study him at any point in college!
Anyway, as of yesterday those lucky enough to study him and his ‘work‘ will have access to much more information about exactly what Stalin did, and who he did it to. Time to get back to learning Russian methinks!!
Good news of the day comes from here - and the knowledge that a campaign is finally being run in this country on the issue of cervical cancer.
